IPLA P.A. is specialized in transactional work with the United States of Patent and Trademark Office, excluding litigation work. We understand that the number one hurdle in patent and trademark prosecution cycles with the federal government would be hourly fees charged by legal counsels. In order to provide the lowest possible rate to relieve financial burdens of patent and trademark applicants, IPLA P.A. has continued innovational upgrades of its internal docketing system and electronic case management from the first year of its operation in 2005.
In 2012, IPLA P.A. has eventually evolved to a total fixed fee system maintaining the lowest rate in the industry without compromising our expertise. However, our legal counsels have decided not to be publicized on the internet with the exception of the experienced IP manager as a contact point since our low rate at patent and trademark transactional work should not be associated with the competent profiles of our legal counsels.

Simon Shim has an intensive experience over the past 20 years in patent drafting, patent transactional work with the USPTO, technical translation work between English and East Asian languages including Korean, Japanese and Chinese. His experience includes Korean-to-English patent translation for four years at Park, Kim and Partner in South Korea under Marc Miller, a U.S. patent attorney where he has dealt with most U.S. patent applications on behalf of LG Electronics. He also worked with Samsung SDI.
Simon’s continued experience in patents and trademarks resumed in Los Angeles with Park & Sutton LLP for patent and trademark prosecution for almost six years since 1999 when he moved to America. Ever since, he has been closely monitoring electronic filing system and e-Government system of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is one of the most experienced specialists in transactional work of patent and trademark applications in America.
